7 Days of Self-Love

Dove w stained glassSit quietly for up to five minutes, as you contemplate each day’s practice.  Then do your best to remain mindful of the practice throughout the day.

DAY 1
Love.  As you inhale, visualize receiving love into your heart, noticing how it feels to receive love with each breath.  As you exhale, visualize radiating love outward from your heart, noticing how this feels.

DAY 2
Validation. Acknowledge yourself for the incredible person that you are. You know yourself better than any other person will ever know you. You know what is really amazing about you.  Lay false modesty aside and really acknowledge yourself, especially your heart.

DAY  3
Self-knowledge. See yourself.  Most of us yearn to be truly seen.  Give yourself the gift today of seeing yourself, with loving eyes, from within.

DAY 4
Appreciation. Give yourself appreciation for your own good qualities, good deeds, and good intentions.  Appreciate any areas in which you have recently focused your efforts. Appreciate ways you have helped others.  Appreciate ways you have taken care of yourself.

DAY 5
Respect. This is a time for the mind to humble itself and show respect. It is time for the mind to remember that it is not in charge.  Bow your head to your own beautiful heart.

DAY 6
Generosity. Do something loving for yourself. Spend time in nature, take a walk, or do something else you enjoy. Treat yourself well.

DAY 7
Love. As you inhale, visualize receiving love into your heart, noticing how it feels to receive love with each breath.  As you exhale, visualize radiating love outward from your heart, noticing how this feels.

  For best results, repeat the cycle 3-4 times
