Fall Retreat – Mt. Madonna Information

Mt. Madonna

1.  If you are driving to Mt. Madonna, print the directions from their website and take them with you. This is essential. GPS is not reliable and you will be out of cell phone range for the last part of the trip.

2.  If you are flying, rides can be arranged directly through Mt. Madonna to and from any of the airports including San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose. Ride requests should be made at least 2 weeks in advance.

3.  Allow plenty of extra time for traffic. It is normally a 2 hour drive south of San Francisco, but could be double that, depending on traffic. We suggest you arrive by 3 pm. to allow plenty of time to get oriented and settled.  Leaving the Bay Area (San Francisco) no later than noon is advisable.  Better yet, come in the morning if you can and enjoy the hiking trails or schedule a massage at the Kaya Kalpa Wellness Center.

4.  Mt. Madonna requires everyone to remove shoes indoors. Socks or indoor slippers can be worn.

7.  The food at Mt. Madonna is strictly vegetarian – no meat, fish, fowl, or eggs. At each meal there are non-dairy and non-gluten options, and foods containing dairy and gluten are clearly marked. Our first meal is dinner. If you wish to arrive earlier and have lunch (12:30-1:30), you will need to make a lunch reservation  by phoning 408-846-4065 at least 24 hours in advance.
